Geocaching
I don't know about you guys but I am kind of excited to go geocaching tomorrow! Its hard to believe that there are treasures in Pella. I think this is a way to connect the country :)
Website
I loved creating the web page! It was so much fun. It would be a good tool to have as a teacher. I know if my teachers would have had a website it would have made things way easier. This is also a great communication tool for teachers and parents. It is definitly something I will set up when I ecome a teacher.
Lessons
I thought doing the power point lesson was a good idea. It was good to distinguish the difference between a virtual tour and using it to supplement a lesson. It is good to use both ways. I think that it would be really hard to use a power point for kindergartners but you could if you made it very simple.
Google Docs
Google Docs what a cool piece of technology. After we set them up in class I have actually used mine alot. For group projects it makes things so much easier. Everyone can give their input and it just shows up ! I will definitly use this !
Virtual Tour
I loved watching the virtual tours in class! I had never thought of this idea to use as a learning tool in the classroom. I got some really good ideas though. Like Dani yours would be really good to use on the first day and its way more creative then the usual ice breakers. Even the secondary ones were good I wish that my teachers would have done things like this when I was going through school. It would definitly help witht the visual learners! Plus they were FUN to make!
Tech Piece
So for my tech piece I was doing a wiki page. Basically what I have found out is it like a twitter page. You can create a a page about yourself and you can invite friends and family to join. I think you could use this in your classroom for parent communication. They can blog to you their question and concerns. It would cut down on emails and things like that. If you guys know anything about it let me know!
